Audrey and Tamara’s Workshop

My winter has been filled with workshops, learning all that I can to better my photographs and business. I still have one more to attend this May here in Minneapolis, The Secret Workshop with Cheryl Muhr, I’m so excited! Anyhoooo, when I was in Vegas a couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of going to a workshop put on by Audrey Woulard and Tamara Lackey. There were about 30 of us, we split up and half of us shot with Audrey and then switched to shoot with Tamara. They are both WONDERFUL teachers and I learned a lot! Here are a few pictures of the sweet kiddos we got to photograph, thanks again to Audrey and Tamara for their time and knowledge!

Nicki and Nick

Love and laughter, they have to be two of the best things in life and when you can find that in someone else.. hold on tight! I think that’s what encompasses Nicki and Nick, I spent our entire engagement shoot laughing. It may have been because I was torturing Nick with photos left and right, but in the end we had a great day. It was one of those unseasonably warm afternoons with a slight breeze, this didn’t even phase Nicki in her gorgeous blue dress and kick butt black boots! You guys rocked it, admit it Nick.. you had a little fun right? I can’t wait for your wedding in less than 3 months, holy cow! 🙂

The Oscars

I may be one of the only WPPI attendees who decided to skip out on all the parties tonight and stay in… to watch the Oscars. I’m a total award show junkie, I don’t think I missed a single one this season. This year’s show was fabulous, it ran a little long so I’m glad I didn’t just record it at home and wait til Thursday to watch it. That would have driven me NUTS! Personally, I hadn’t seen all the Best Picture nominees but heard raves about Avatar, The Hurt Locker and Precious. I loved The Blind Side so when Sandra Bullock won I was ecstatic! Her acceptance speech almost brought me to tears, she has to be one of the classiest and funniest actresses around! Last night she accepted her Razzie award for All About Steve and tonight she’s winning an Oscar… only Sandra Bullock can do that! 🙂

Tomorrow starts a long day of experiencing the trade show for the first time and then I’ll be off to see the one and only Jasmine Star speak. We’re planning on getting there an hour and a half before the doors even open because the room only holds 900 people. I went to see Audrey speak today and they had to turn people away from the 900 capacity room, so I can’t even imagine what J*’s will be like!

There will be lots to share and hopefully my branding will be all done and ready to launch when I get back from Vegas. I can’t wait to show you all, Ryan over at 2nd Street Creative rocks my socks off… he seriously is the best! Hope everyone had a great weekend and maybe even enjoyed the Oscars as much as me 🙂

Vegas Baby!

Just a quick note to let you all know I will be out of the office from Wednesday March 3-Wednesday March 10 because I will be in VEGAS!!! 🙂 I’m heading out there for a few different reasons… first is Tamara Lackey and Audrey Woulard‘s Photography workshop. I’m so unbelievably excited and nervous because I look up to these women more than they could ever know. Second, my mom’s birthday is on Thursday so we are going to do some celebrating with a few shows including Cirque de Soleil and the Jersey Boys! Lastly, I’ll be attending WPPI for the first time and I’m so overwhelmed. There are so many great photographers speaking and parties galore, I don’t even know where to start. When I come back, I may need a vacation from this vacation with all the information overload 🙂

Paloma is ONE!

6 months ago, Miss Paloma was starting to crawl and developing that bright personality of hers 🙂

Now she’s ONE and still just adorable as ever! She’s saying words, taking her first steps and is mama’s little angel 🙂 I can’t wait to watch Paloma grow up into a beautiful little lady. Thanks Rachel and Paloma for having me over, I am so excited for you guys to move closer some day soon *fingers crossed* and see you both more!!!! 🙂

Todd and Melissa – Target Field Engagement

For many people who know me I am one of the biggest Twins Fans. I swear the day Joe Mauer meets me, he’ll fall in love with me and we’ll live happily ever after 🙂 So when Todd asked if I wanted to come down to Target Field to do more engagement pictures of him and Mel you can only imagine my excitement! I felt like a kid on Christmas morning, wait, we get to go in where? The Dugout? SHUT UP! I think I had a perma grin on my face for the whole 2 hours we walked around. Thank you again Todd and Mel, I had so much fun with you guys again! Here’s your sneak peek!

Relay for life

One of my brother’s best friends Matthew is doing tremendous things out in Boulder, Colorado where he is attending the University of Colorado – Boulder. He is heading up a team for Relay for Life called The Sundance Kids. I could not be more honored and proud of what he’s doing to find a cure for Cancer and I know my brother would be so proud of him too!

Looking at these pictures reminds me how badly we need to find a cure so families don’t have to experience what we’ve had to. Head over to Matt’s fundraising page and donate if you can, my parents have offered to MATCH the donations Matt raises… so if he raises $1000, they’ll donate $1000. Which means we’re just that much closer to finding a cure for Cancer! 🙂

Gavin’s 1st Birthday Party

Last weekend I spent my afternoon with the P family celebrating Gavin’s 1st birthday with all of their friends and family. It was an AWESOME birthday party, Lindsay and Adam left no detail out; the food, drinks, presents and LOTS of guests. We did a few pictures of just Gavin before all the guests arrived and I swear I could have photographed him for HOURS. His smile is infectious and those eyes, oh boy look out girls… we’ve got another heartbreaker 🙂
